JOHN CRACE

John Crace has been the Guardian’s political sketch writer for the last ten years and is one of the paper’s most loved columnists.

He has also written twenty books on everything from cricket, football, TV, literature, politics and – not forgetting – himself. The most recent, Depraved New World, a collection of his Guardian columns, was published in November 2023 and was a Waterstones Politics Book of the Year.

In January 2024 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by Bath Spa University in recognition of his literary satire.

Leah Davis

Leah Davis is a radio presenter for Capital XTRA and stand-up comedian. After launching her comedy career in 2022 she has received a number of accolades including Funny Women finalist and British Comedian of the Year finalist for '22, named the Face of Comedy for ‘23 by Jiksaw and was a finalist in the Sean Lock Channel 4 Comedy award and runner-up for the Chortle Awards, both in 2024.

Leah has written for Netflix’s Too Hot To Handle and launched the Capital XTRA book club podcast in 2022, which she also hosts, featuring guests such as David Harewood, Malorie Blackman and Amber Rose-Gill and Yewande Biala, the hosts of the Receipts Podcast.

In 2024, she featured in the third series of Comedy Central Live. She has a laid-back, assured onstage presence and room-warming persona, which is a front for her colloquial, animated routines with big punchlines.

Mark Simmons

Mark is, according to the Evening Standard, “The UK’s pre-eminent pun merchant”. His debut tour Quip Off the Mark sold over 16,000 tickets at 130+ dates across the country including a hat-trick of sold out shows at the Leicester Square Theatre.

Mark placed in Dave’s prestigious Best Joke of The Fringe in Edinburgh 2017, 2019 and 2022 before finally winning in 2024. Known for his quick responses on stage, Mark is a social media sensation with over 288k followers on TikTok and Instagram combined. He has starred in two episodes of Mock The Week and produces the weekly Jokes with Mark Simmons podcast. 2026 will see Mark touring his anticipated Jest to Impress show at over fifty venues across the UK.

MATT LUCAS

Actor, author, comedian, presenter, and writer, Matt Lucas is one of the most recognisable personalities in British television. Matt first came to prominence as George Dawes in the seminal comedy panel show Shooting Stars. However, he is perhaps best known for his work alongside David Walliams, co-creating the three-time BAFTA winning BBC comedy Little Britain.

Matt has starred in numerous critically acclaimed projects, with film credits including Alice in Wonderland, Paddington and Bridesmaids, TV credits including Doctor Who, and theatre projects including Les Misérables. Additionally, Matt has created a string of bestselling children’s books, including Thank You, Baked Potato, plus his memoir Little Me.

Matt has co-hosted the award-winning Great British Bake Off for Channel 4 and 2 series of Sky Max’s Fantasy Football. Matt starred alongside Timothée Chalamet in Warner Bros’ musical fantasy Wonka (2023), and most recently appeared in Ridley Scott’s Gladiator 2 (2024) in the role of Master of Ceremonies.

Matt’s debut children’s musical novel, The Boy Who slept Through Christmas, was shortlisted for the 2024 British Book Awards.

Matt is currently co-hosting hit podcast Making A Scene with David Walliams, where they turn their guests’ lives into cinematic masterpieces.

Miles Jupp

Beginning his comedy career with a running start in 2000 when he won both So You Think You’re Funny and Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year, Miles Jupp became a regular performer on BBC Scotland’s Live Floor Show and went on to earn a nomination for the Perrier Best Newcomer award for his debut solo show, Gentlemen Prefer Brogues.

On television, Miles continues to work as a comedian and presenter, appearing in Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Have I got News For You, Mock the Week, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Argumental, Just a Minute, Live At The Apollo and Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle.

Following a life-threatening seizure caused by a benign brain tumour in 2021, Jupp returned to the live comedy scene with his critically-acclaimed touring show On I Bang in 2024, nominated for a Chortle award in 2025.

Robert White

Known for his brilliant timing and performance style, Robert’s chaotic stage presence, improvisational skills and delivery won him the 2010 Malcolm Hardy Award for Comic Originality. And in the same year, he wrote one of Dave’s Top Ten Jokes of The Fringe.

He is arguably best known for coming second in ITV’s highest rated show, Britain’s Got Talent, in 2018. More recently he has done tour support at The Hammersmith Apollo, Wembley, as well as being a sought-after headliner at London's top clubs including The Top Secret Comedy Club. A regular at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe since 2010, his shows regularly impress critics and audiences alike.
